1 Minute Milkshake

I just made a shake in one minute.  It happened so quickly that I had to go back and take a picture of the ingredients, since I realized it was both delicious, easy to make, and requires minimal time.  In the few minutes since I made the shake, I’ve already finished it.  For those of you that like interval training, that’s a 1:3 work/rest ratio.  The shake was short and sweet, so I’ll keep this post the same way.  Here’s my ‘before’ picture of the ingredients:

Before!

I included vanilla whey protein in the mix after I started, due to the fact that it was too watery.  Who wants a thin milk shake?!  Other than the whey, I only used peanut butter, milk, a banana and Greek Yogurt.  A few shakes of cinnamon were added at the end for added healthiness…and flavor!  Here are the specifics of the recipe:

  • ½ cup of natural peanut butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 small ripe banana
  • ½ cup of plain Greek yogurt.
  • 1 scoop of vanilla whey (25 grams)
  • Sprinkle o’ cinnamon

That’s the order the ingredients went into the blender, and it only took a minute.  You can’t be simpler than this.  I’m going to try a second version of this shake some time next week with a few changes.  I’ll use almond milk instead of cows milk, and probably use even amounts of the milk and Greek yogurt to make it a little creamier.  I’d also like to try a few shakes with chocolate flavored protein once I buy some, and I think this could be a candidate for a  chocolate flavored face lift.  Even without those future alterations, this shake tastes pretty damn good!

Between pulling out ingredients and making this shake, I couldn’t have spent more than 5 minutes creating this concoction.  More time was thinking about what to add then actually making it, and it’s both delicious and nutritious.  If you’re looking for a tasty shake that won’t break your diet, give this one a try.  Maybe you can even have it for ‘dessert’ after you’ve tried my spinach, strawberry and banana shake, or my all-time favorite spinach and blueberry smoothie.  Regardless, try one of these recipes out to keep your taste buds and waistband happy.

After!
