Eating breakfast in the morning is hard to do. Not really, but I’ll admit that it can be difficult to eat quality good when you’re perpetually running behind schedule. Most people will grab a fruit filled yogurt, granola bars, or a store bought breakfast drink; all ‘health foods’ that are deceptively unhealthy. Also, they’re not scrambled eggs, which is the most amazing breakfast you can possibly eat. Personal opinion? No, that’s a fact. (Yes, it’s my opinion)
So, maybe you don’t have time to make your eggs in the morning. That’s fine. Here’s an easy solution to starting your morning with a nice heart breakfast burrito. I didn’t time it, but I honestly think I had the food out of the fridge to in my mouth in just about two minutes. Pretty impressive, huh?
It comes down to one thing: food prep. It’s really easy to plan and eat healthy meals if you prepare the individual ingredients ahead of time. In this case, I had hardboiled eggs and breakfast sausage links ready to go. With those two, I cut them up, and put them a whole grain tortilla. Add cheese, a minute in the microwave…a nice hearty breakfast. While there are some tweaks that can be made to increase the overall nutritional quality, I don’t think there’s a better way to get a meal with so much energy in such a short amount of time. Long live the breakfast burrito!
